Since I was a little girl, I have always loved animals but especially horses and dogs. I was fortunate enough to have had the experience of spending my summers on my grandparent's farm. There I learned to ride horses. My compassion for animals grew. I started showing dogs in 1977 actively competing in conformation, obedience, agility and lure coursing.

I now breed top winning Afghan Hounds under the kennel name - Bakura Afghans
I am also the Executive Director of the Taliemir Memorial Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to animal welfare and awareness issues.
And I am the Secretary/Treasurer and Rescue Coordinator for - The Afghan Hound Club of Austin
